About Me

Welcome to your go-to hub where science, culture, and innovation meets humor, education, and creativity.

I’m a Mexican-American marine biologist with over 8 years of hands-on experience. While my journey began in the ocean, my mission has grown bigger: to explore how biology and biotechnology can work together to create eco-friendly solutions that benefit everyone. I believe the ocean belongs to everyone whether you’re on the California coast, next to a Great Lake, or miles from the nearest shore.

My roots are in both the vibrant culture of my heritage and the deep blue of the Pacific. Growing up, I learned that water connects us all: from the rivers running through farmland to the waves breaking on the beach. That lesson drives my work today: to show how every ecosystem, every species, and every molecule of life holds dignity and value.

While much of our focus is on the ocean, we know that water connects everything: from rivers and wetlands to mountain streams and the vast pelagic zones offshore.

The pelagic zone(s), the open ocean far from shore, is one of the most important habitats on Earth. It sustains life on a massive scale: tiny plankton that create much of our oxygen, schools of fish that feed communities around the world, and great whales that help regulate our climate.

But water’s story doesn’t stop at the ocean. It flows through cities, forests, and deserts, shaping every ecosystem it touches. Whether you’re standing on the banks of the LA River, hiking Griffith Park’s hidden springs, or gazing at the Pacific horizon, water is the thread that links us all.

Our mission is not only to advance understanding of marine science but to cultivate a deep respect for biology itself. Every organism, ecosystem, and process has dignity, and through science we can learn to listen to nature’s lessons. By harnessing the wisdom of Mother Nature responsibly, we strive to create solutions that benefit all people and the planet we share. From tide pools to kelp forests, I’ve been part of conservation and education projects along the Los Angeles coastline. Now, I’m bringing that knowledge and curiosity straight to you, no matter where you live.
